This particular performance blend is a function of a midsole that is one millimeter thicker at the heel and is made of a considerably softer composite than the midsoles of Sportie’s popular race shoes. The single density midsole is also a very light sole, which is paired with an upper that is equally light and very breathable. Indeed, the Wildcat is one of the lightest shoes we carry and weighs just 14 grams (0.4 oz) more than Crosslites of the same size. The Wildcat also provides excellent stability thanks to a TPU heel cup, plus shelter from trail debris thanks to the integrated tongue guard. The fit of the Wildcat is on the spacious end of the La Sportiva spectrum, especially in terms of vertical space from the mid-foot forward. The Wildcat is a very attractive option for trail runners who like the light, nimble character of La Sportiva shoes, but want or need a little more cushion and a wider fit.
