The HPL 008 walks a nice tight rope between being an ultralight running vest, on the one hand, and a full-blown hydration pack, on the other. The 1.5 liter hydration bladder is large enough to keep refills to a minimum (equal to about 2 1/2 hand-held water bottles), yet small enough to keep your stride light and quick. Also has a stretch mesh back pocket outside the bladder sleeve that's big enough for a jacket. The hydration bladder has a filter-compatible screw-top closure and bite valve. Up front are dual front pockets -- one mesh holster, one zippered -- perfect for energy gels and other small items. The sternum strap adjusts vertically to dial in a comfortably snug fit.
