Slim-fitting technical running shirts are nice. They wick better, and drag and snag less than baggy shirts. Plus, let's face it, the fitted look is a flattering look. Of course, it's also nice to have zone construction that maximizes coverage where you want it and breathability where you need it most. Reflective accents, flat seams, and a stash pocket are always nice details.
This top has all that plus a zipper. The benefits of a zipper are basically two: it (1) makes putting on and taking off the shirt a bit easier, and (2) allows you to open up for long uphill slogs where every bit of ventilation is welcome then zip back up, as you will probably want to, when you start bombing the descent that inevitably follows.
